We’re now halfway through the year – it feels like decades have gone by since the beginning of this pandemic. There’s an overabundance of content to read. This week I decided to read the seminal classic – Positioning by Al Ries and Jack Trout – originally written in 1980 – but here’s some other stuff too.
I’ve been generally slow on reading this week. I binged the most recent season of Handmaid’s Tale instead and chose to laze around. I’ve been doing my best to be productive, but as the hot days roll by and time endlessly blends together, I find it dinner time all too fast and the day: gone.
Here’s what I recommend:
From marketing, Reforge came out with a new post, but also I went down a rabbit hole of reading some old posts on Product-Market-Channel-Model fit via Brian Balfour. Below you’ll find the 2 reads I did this week.
- Crossing the Canyon: Leading Your First Marketing Team from Reforge, 2020
- How to Match Your Key Metrics to Your Content Goals from MarketingProfs, 2020
Some other stuff includes a great post from Justin Kan. I got into his writing when Atrium folded earlier this year. His post, Feeling Good, really helped me. I downloaded the app, Streaks, and have never been the same! I’ve gone 100+ days of meditation, reading, exercising, blogging, and even flossing! See: Feeling Good: Justin’s Program from Justin Kan, 2019
The other post I thought was interested was about Diane from Bojack Horseman, one of my favorite animated series. If you haven’t seen the show, I highly recommend it. It’s clever, dark, and incredibly funny. See: Diane Nguyen Was BoJack Horseman’s Most Flawed Character, and Its Most Important from Slate, 2020
