It’s been another heavy week with what’s going on in the world today. A lot of my time has been sucked into reading more into the dialogue around systemic racism. Don’t worry, there’s marketing too, but as marketers we have to understand the world we live in as much as market to it.
The world is on fire. The only way I can make it feel a little better, is maybe with this cute gif, but really, who are we kidding? We’re facing centuries of systemic racism that is definitely not going to be solved in a day, or even any time soon. The reality is that we need to face a major cultural shift.
How? Well, for those already fighting the good fight – it’s up for you to determine if you want to take on the responsibility of educating others. While it isn’t the responsibility of Black or POC to educate others, who would be willing to or wants to take it on?
For those not quite sure where to start, you can start by educating yourself. And read my post from last week about what to do when you’re not quite sure what to do.
